Thank you to all our supporters!!
Most of you will know that the Soper Hall is a registered charity run by a Board of volunteers, but lots of improvements go on behind the scenes that many people aren’t aware of. Since taking over the management of the Halls seven years ago we have completed many projects including:
Moving the main office to the ground floor to allow easier access to visitors
Improving the foot access by the barrier by removing the kerb
Refurbishment of the majority of first floor offices
Installing double glazed windows to part of the building
Converting the old Citizen’s Advice Bureau offices into a bright new hall
Installing additional disabled facilities to allow access to all visitors
Installing a barrier to serve the rear car park
Converting the Memorial Hall lighting to LED
Installing upgraded security lighting
Installing decorative lighting to the front of the building and the Memorial Hall
Redecoration programme of the public areas which is ongoing
None of these things would have been possible without your support! Like all buildings of this age improvements and refurbishment are constantly ongoing and we still have many projects to complete. Some of the things on our list are:
Moving the ladies’ toilets to a more accessible position and completely refurbishing all the downstairs toilets
Resurfacing the car park
Replacing more of the windows with double glazing
Changing over to a Green Energy heating system
Cleaning the front facade of the building
We will be re-opening very soon and look forward to welcoming you all back to enjoy the many varied events that take place at Soper Hall. We are especially looking forward to seeing all our regular hirers and the monthly Comedy Club and Rhythm & Blues Club!
Please keep supporting us so we can continue to be the heart of the community for many generations to come.
